Gold Embossed Scales and Bubbles Masculine Card

A sophisticated masculine card featuring gold embossed scales and bubble textures with a baby shark character and split sentiment. The design combines metallic gold embossing with black and gold layering for a modern, glamorous look.

Step by step

1. Place a scrap of cartridge paper on your stamping platform with protective paper underneath. ▶ watch 2:00
2. Use the Stylish Scales die as a reverse stencil, positioning it in the bottom corner of your card. ▶ watch 2:15
3. Press the clear embossing pad into the stencil area to pick up the detail. ▶ watch 2:30
4. Sprinkle gold embossing powder over the stamped area and tap off the excess. ▶ watch 2:45
5. Use a paintbrush to brush away any loose powder you don't want in your design. ▶ watch 3:15
6. Position the Twine & Bubbles stamp on the embossing pad and press firmly to stamp the bubble detail. ▶ watch 3:45
7. Sprinkle gold embossing powder over the bubbles and tap off excess. ▶ watch 5:00
8. Use a heat gun to set the embossing powder, keeping it moving to avoid burning the card. ▶ watch 6:00
9. Mount the embossed panel onto black paper using wet glue. ▶ watch 8:00
10. Attach the mounted panel to a black tent-fold card (approximately 5 by 7 inches). ▶ watch 9:00
11. Stamp the Catch You Later sentiment and baby shark image onto scrap card using Versafine black ink. ▶ watch 10:00
12. Apply black embossing powder to the sentiment and heat set it to make it glossy and prominent. ▶ watch 10:45
13. Carefully cut around the shark character with scissors, removing the white border. ▶ watch 11:30
14. Cut the sentiment into separate words to create an abstract, split layout. ▶ watch 13:00
15. Mount each sentiment piece onto black paper, then trim with a small border. ▶ watch 14:00
16. Mount the black-backed sentiment pieces onto gold paper to create layered elements. ▶ watch 15:30

Tips from the show

• Keep a die cut as a reverse stencil in your stash and wipe it clean after use so you can reuse it multiple times.
• If you struggle to see where you've stamped with a clear embossing pad, you can purchase pads with a slight pink tint to help locate stamped areas.
• Chopping up your own sentiments and making them abstract creates more of a focal point on your card.
