Paper Pieced Pig Scene Card with Nesting Dies

A project from our live show BRAND SHOWCASE - Join Simon from AVAGO INK - broadcast 8th April 22 · 08/04/2022 · watch it from 14:45

Create a vibrant layered card using a large background stamp as a template. Cut sections from coloured paper to build up a scenic landscape, then layer it onto a card blank shaped with a nesting die to create a coordinating card front.

Step by step

  1. Stamp the large background scene stamp (hills and trees) onto blue paper using black ink. ▶ watch 15:15
  2. Use the stamped image as a template to cut out different coloured paper sections for each landscape layer. ▶ watch 16:30
  3. Glue the coloured paper pieces onto your base card, layering them to build up the scene with hills in different shades. ▶ watch 17:30
  4. Add cloud shapes on top of the landscape, keeping them flat rather than dimensional. ▶ watch 18:45
  5. Fold a piece of black card in half and position a nesting die so it overlaps the fold line, then die-cut to create a coordinating card blank. ▶ watch 22:00
  6. Die-cut a plain black card with the same nesting die to create a template for the card front. ▶ watch 23:00
  7. Glue the scenic panel onto the card front, positioning it within the nesting die shape. ▶ watch 24:15
  8. Die-cut an arch shape from the nesting die and glue it to the top of the card to create a sentiment area. ▶ watch 25:00
  9. Stamp a sentiment onto white card and glue it into the arch area. ▶ watch 27:30
  10. Attach pig stamps to foam pads and position them on the card, with one pig appearing to walk off the edge. ▶ watch 28:15
