Step by step

  1. Cut a piece of black card slightly smaller than your card blank to create a border. ▶ watch 24:45
  2. Randomly cut small triangles from your coloured paper scraps in various widths and points to create variety. ▶ watch 25:00
  3. Mark a small circle in the centre of the black card to use as an aiming point for your sunburst design. ▶ watch 25:15
  4. Apply glue to the black card and begin laying down the coloured triangles, pointing them all towards the centre circle. ▶ watch 25:30
  5. Build up the sunburst by adding triangles in different colours all around, leaving small gaps of black between pieces to make colours pop. ▶ watch 26:00
  6. Fill in larger gaps with additional smaller triangles, continuing to point all pieces towards the centre. ▶ watch 27:30
  7. Trim away any overhanging pieces using a paper trimmer, working around the edges to neaten the design. ▶ watch 31:45
  8. Use a circle die to cut out the centre of the sunburst, creating a neat circular frame that hides the messy edges. ▶ watch 32:45
  9. Mount the trimmed sunburst panel onto your card blank using foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 33:45
  10. Stamp your chosen sentiment onto a contrasting strip using an embossing ink pad. ▶ watch 35:45
  11. Cover the stamped sentiment with white embossing powder, tap away excess, and heat-emboss to create a crisp finish. ▶ watch 36:15
  12. Glue the embossed sentiment strip directly across the bottom of the card. ▶ watch 38:00
  13. Mount your pre-coloured elephant character in the centre circle using a foam pad. ▶ watch 38:30
  14. Apply glitter glue along the edges of the coloured triangles to add sparkle and definition to the design. ▶ watch 38:45
