Melted Powder Ring

Create a beautiful embossed resin-style ring using melted WOW powder. This technique produces a glossy, jewellery-quality finish that can be worn or used as a decorative embellishment.

Step by step

1. Prepare your foil tray by squeezing it gently to create a spout on one side and attaching a peg to the opposite side for holding. ▶ watch 45:00
2. Measure out a couple of teaspoons of melted powder into a metal spoon. ▶ watch 47:15
3. Add your chosen embossing powder colour to the melted powder and mix thoroughly until the colour appears to disappear into the powder. ▶ watch 47:30
4. Heat the spoon from underneath using your heat tool on setting two, holding it about an inch away until the mixture starts to melt. ▶ watch 48:15
5. Once melted, place your heat tool on top of the spoon to keep the mixture molten, then tip it into the pouring spout of your prepared tray. ▶ watch 48:45
6. Insert your ring base into the molten mixture, holding it steady with your hand. ▶ watch 52:00
7. Allow to set for a few minutes, then gently wiggle the peg to release the ring. ▶ watch 52:15
8. Allow to cool completely before removing from the peg or wearing, as the metal will be very hot. ▶ watch 52:30

Tips from the show

• You can reactivate cooled melted powder by reheating it if needed
• Only touch the ring by the actual ring band, not the melted powder part, as it will be hot
• You can mix different coloured powders together to create custom colours
