Step by step

  1. Take your first piece of 8x8 (or 6x6) paper and score a half-inch line down one long side using your score tool or guillotine. ▶ watch 20:30
  2. Repeat the scoring process on a second piece of paper, creating two scored pieces. ▶ watch 21:00
  3. Fold both pieces in half along the score lines to create creases. ▶ watch 21:15
  4. Glue one hinge (the folded edge) of the first piece to one side, then glue the hinge of the second piece to create a tunnel effect with hidden hinges inside. ▶ watch 22:30
  5. Take a third piece of paper, fold it in half, and punch a two-inch circle arch into the folded edge to create a decorative pocket opening. ▶ watch 25:00
  6. Glue the pocket piece to the front of your first tunnel, leaving the sides open to create a functional pocket. ▶ watch 31:00
  7. Turn the album over and glue a second pocket piece to the back in the same way. ▶ watch 33:30
  8. Repeat the pocket-making process for your second tunnel, creating four pockets total (front and back on both tunnels). ▶ watch 34:30
  9. Cut a connector strip from cardstock measuring just under 8 inches tall by 2 inches wide, then score it in half lengthwise to create a hinge. ▶ watch 39:00
  10. Glue the connector strip inside the tunnels to join them together, positioning it just away from the score line to allow the album to open and close smoothly. ▶ watch 42:00
  11. Cut white cardstock mats measuring approximately 7 by 5 inches to fit inside each pocket. ▶ watch 45:00
  12. Add vellum overlays, fussy-cut embellishments, and decorative elements to personalise each pocket and page. ▶ watch 52:00
