Sunflower Embossed Corner Card

Create a simple yet striking card using the sunflower embossing folder. Cut the embossed design into quarters and layer them as decorative corners on contrasting cardstock, then add optional colour with sparkle pens for a clean, modern look.

Step by step

1. Run the sunflower embossing folder through your die-cutting machine on white cardstock. ▶ watch 32:15
2. Cut the embossed sunflower design into four equal quarters using a guillotine or craft knife. ▶ watch 32:30
3. Layer a white square of cardstock on top of a black square to create contrast. ▶ watch 33:00
4. Adhere one sunflower quarter to the corner of your layered squares using adhesive. ▶ watch 33:15
5. Repeat with three more corner pieces on separate white and black layered squares. ▶ watch 33:30
6. Arrange all four corner pieces on your card base, positioning them at each corner. ▶ watch 34:00
7. Optional: add a touch of orange or yellow colour to the flower centres using a sparkle pen or ink pad. ▶ watch 34:15
8. Add a sentiment or text in the centre of the card to complete the design. ▶ watch 35:00

Tips from the show

• Spray the cardstock lightly with water before running through the machine if you experience cracking.
• You can use the embossing folder in non-traditional ways—don't feel limited to using the whole design.
• The colour sits beautifully in the deep embossed lines, creating a naturally beautiful effect.
