Create a charming card featuring a stamped rainbow and sitting ballerina character, watercoloured in soft pastels and mounted on a starry embossed background panel. The delicate watercolour work and layered focal images create a whimsical, celebratory card.
Stamp a rainbow image in black ink onto white card in the top area of your focal panel.
Stamp the sitting ballerina character in black ink below the rainbow, positioning her to sit on or near a sentiment line.
Wet the background area around the rainbow with clean water using a watercolour brush.
Add soft blue watercolour into the wet area around the clouds and stars, allowing the colour to blend naturally.
Wet the area around the ballerina and add soft blue watercolour to the background.
Watercolour the rainbow stripes in yellow, green and blue, keeping the colours soft and allowing them to blend slightly.
Watercolour the ballerina's body in grey, starting with a lighter shade and adding darker grey for shading.
Paint the ballerina's tutu in soft pink, adding a little darker pink for dimension.
Add a touch of yellow or gold to small details like flowers or accents if desired.
Heat-dry the watercoloured panel with a heat gun to ensure it's completely dry before die-cutting.
Die-cut a hexagonal shape through the rainbow area using a hexagonal die.
Mount the watercoloured focal panel onto a glitter card layer using glue.
Mount the focal panel onto the embossed starry background card using foam pads for dimension.
