Create an elegant magnolia card featuring beautiful raised texture and delicate coloured detail. Using a 3D embossing folder combined with layered stencils, you'll craft dimensional floral elements enhanced with a refined gold embossed halo. This multi-layered technique produces a sophisticated card with both tactile depth and artistic colour work.

Pas à pas

1. 

   Run white card stock through the 3D embossing folder with the magnolia design using your embossing machine with the thicker embossing plate to create a raised floral pattern.

   Once the embossing is complete, apply the first layer of the magnolia stencil using distress oxide inks with a blending brush to build up the floral design.

   Build up the stencil layers using different distress oxide colours. Work softly to create subtle shading and depth on your design.

4. 

   Allow the inked magnolia design to dry completely before proceeding to the next step. The stamped image should show the blue flowers and yellow-green leaves clearly on the pink cardstock.

5. 

   Stamp the magnolia image using embossing ink over the stencilled design on your card. Position the stamp carefully to overlay the yellow and blue stencilled areas.

6. 

   Heat-set the stamped magnolia image using gold embossing powder to create a sparkling halo effect around the design. Apply heat evenly until the powder melts and sets completely.

7. Once cooled, admire the finished dimensional effect created by combining the embossed magnolia base with the stencilled and embossed halo details around it. ▶ watch 48:30

Astuces de l'émission

• The 3D embossing folder has no die-cut, so the card remains as one piece, allowing you to add inky techniques on top.
• Tape the card down in the embossing folder on your first attempt if you're nervous about the result.
• The embossing folder brings back definition even if your stencil layers feel lost.
