Stamps By Me app
Privacy policy - last updated 12 October 2026
The Stamps By Me app is run by Stamps By Me Limited, Unit 3 Riverside Works, Thornes Lane, Wakefield, WF1 5RW, United Kingdom. This page explains what the app collects, why, and how you stay in control. Our website has its own privacy policy, which covers buying on the website.
What we collect
- Your email address - to send you a sign-in code and to recognise your account.
- Your name and profile picture (if you add one) - shown next to what you post in the community.
- What you post - posts, comments, photos and likes you share in the community.
- Your choices - your shop region (UK, USA or Europe), which notifications you want, and whether you want offers by email.
- A notification address for your phone - so we can send the notifications you have chosen.
- Reports and blocks you make, so the SBM team can keep the community safe.
- Your questions to Ask Toni (our AI helper) - only if you agree to use it. See Ask Toni below.
The app does not track you across other apps or websites, does not show adverts, does not collect your location, and we never sell your information.
How we use it
- to sign you in and run your account;
- to show the community, and to review reports and remove content that breaks the community rules;
- to send the notifications you have switched on (live shows, new launches, replies to your posts);
- to email you offers and news - only if you switch on "Offers and news by email". You can unsubscribe at any time.
- to answer the questions you ask Ask Toni - only after you have agreed in the app.
Ask Toni (our AI helper)
Ask Toni is an AI helper that answers questions about our craft projects, Toni's shows, our guides, the shop and - if you are signed in - your own orders. It uses Claude, an AI service made by Anthropic, PBC (USA). The app asks your permission before anything is sent, and you can turn that permission off at any time in the app (on the Ask Toni screen, or Me > Ask Toni (AI helper)).
What is sent to Anthropic, and how:
- the questions you type, or say using the microphone (your phone turns your voice into words first - only the words are sent), and the last few questions and answers in the same chat;
- only if you are signed in and ask about an order: the details of your recent orders from our website - order numbers, dates, the items, their status, the delivery country, the courier, delivery dates, tracking numbers and any note from our team on the order.
The app sends this to our own website, which sends it to Anthropic to write the answer. Your name, email address, postal address, phone number and payment details are never sent to Anthropic.
How it is used: only to write Toni's answer to you, and - when you ask about an order - to draft a message to our support team that you can check before you send it. We keep a record of the questions and answers on our own server so we can check and improve Ask Toni's answers; it is covered by the same rights below.
How Anthropic protects it: Anthropic handles this information for us under its Commercial Terms of Service and Data Processing Addendum, which require it to protect the information to at least the same standard as this policy. Under those terms Anthropic may not use it to train its AI models.
Who else handles it
Your information is kept on our own server. We use a small number of services to run the app: Amazon Web Services (to send sign-in and newsletter emails), Expo, Apple and Google (to deliver notifications to your phone), YouTube (to play our shows inside the app) and Anthropic (for Ask Toni, only if you agree - see Ask Toni). Buying happens on our website, under its own terms and privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you use it. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Me > Delete my account. This removes your name, picture, posts, comments, photos and likes straight away. Reports about other members are kept for our moderation records.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email info@howtocraftnetwork.com. If you're unhappy with our answer you can contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
The community is for adults and families crafting together. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
